Klára is an eternal student and also a teacher. Besides printmaking, she works on illustration, comics, and graphic design. She has collaborated on projects with EJ Publishing, the children’s magazine Slniečko, and regularly contributes to the comic anthology Pomimo. Currently, she teaches at an art high school in Hodonín (CZ) and is a doctoral student at the Department of Free Graphics at VŠVU.

Japanese comics – manga
Lecture about comics – about comics in Japan. When did this medium first appear on the Japanese scene? And when did manga begin to take the form we know today? What is its influence on the surrounding world? Answers to these questions (and many others) were provided in Klára’s lecture at the Panel conference.
Klára is inspired by Japanese culture in her work, including manga. She discussed not only facts about its history and techniques but also shared her personal experience with the medium, which she gained firsthand in Japan. You learned what characterizes manga, how it differs, and why you should give it a chance.
