Tomáš Prokůpek (*1975) is a comic book publicist, historian, and curator. Since 2000, he has been editing the comic anthology AARGH!. As an author, he has contributed to publications such as Před komiksem: Formování domácího obrázkového seriálu ve 2. polovině XIX. století, Dějiny československého komiksu 20. století, Ondřej Sekora: Mravenčí a jiné práce, and Kulihrášek: Kompletní příhody a příběh jeho tvůrců.

How Ukrainian Comics Fought for Their Place in the Sun
The lecture presented the history and present of Ukrainian comics—from its pioneer and “patriarch,” Anatoliy Vasilenko (*1938), who has been dedicated to picture stories since the 1960s, through Igor Baránek (*1970), who succeeded as a creator in the United States and France, to today’s young Ukrainian scene.
