Jozefa Pevčíková is a doctoral student at the Institute of Literary and Artistic Communication, Faculty of Arts, UKF in Nitra. She has been interested in reading comics since the days of Donald Duck, but her current major comic theme is H. P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos. Her research also focuses on the pop culture periphery, fandom, and the intertextual functioning of their various components.

Lovecraftian Comics in Translation
The Cthulhu Mythos has experienced a renaissance in recent years—or at least has started attracting greater attention from the mainstream. This applies to comics as well, so the question arises: if we look for Lovecraftian comics, what will we find? What and in what form has been published in Czech or Slovak? And what exactly is this genre? The simple answer is only an appearance—Lovecraftian comics are like a certain grimoire: diverse, mysterious, and alluring.
