During the festival weekend, the courtyard of Pálffy Palace and AFAD will come to life with visual art in live broadcast. Artists will create original works live in front of visitors. Come see how new paintings, drawings, and illustrations are created, experience the creative process up close, and chat with the artists and authors.
The following creators will be featured in live painting:
Filip Horník
An illustrator and graphic designer who tries not to bore (himself or others) with his work. He mainly specializes in children’s book and magazine illustration, as well as graphic design. He draws Joško Mrkvička for the magazine Slniečko and the comic Eurodetektívi for the magazine Bublina. He is a member of the Association of Illustrators (ASIL). With his literary debut, “Jelenia hlava,” he has joined the ranks of writers of historical novels and fantasy. His sculptures were part of the “Essence of Beauty” exhibition in Saint Étienne. If there is any exotic form of art, he has probably already tried it. Filip Horník is annoying with his broad range of interests, like a fly. Do you remember how you liked classmates in elementary school for everything they knew? How much do you enjoy not having to meet them anymore? Filip Horník is learning to play the clarinet.

She is primarily known as an illustrator of children’s books and magazines. She works both analogously and digitally and enjoys combining and switching between these techniques. Her first book with her illustrations, “Cesta na svet,” was published ten years ago, and her latest, “Mimi,” will be released soon. Besides illustrating, she also engages in personal art projects, and last year, she fulfilled her teenage dream of painting with sprays at the M. A. Bazovský Gallery in Trenčín. Ivana Pišútová
Ivana Pišútová primarily focuses on pen and ink drawing and digital illustration. Her work is figurative and mainly explores horror and sci-fi themes. She expresses her interest in these topics through drawing intricate mechanisms in collision with the human body, which she often hybridizes into new, non-human forms. Her style ranges from dense pen and ink hatching to soft modeling in digital painting. She studied animation at the Private School of Applied Arts and Animation in Bratislava and was part of the creative team for the game project Degenheim. She also works as a freelance illustrator.

Dávid Soboň
He graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava and from the Academy of Fine Arts in the Department of Visual Communication. The author is a creative chameleon—illustrator and graphic designer at the same time. In his work, he effortlessly covers all areas of illustration, whether it be commercial, book, editorial, or game illustration. Illustration is simply his life, and he approaches it with a distinctive passion. In his free time, David enjoys reading reportage literature, browsing through his collection of picture books, drinking tea, and brainstorming ideas for a new book he could create.
